GROUP
FIXED ARRIVAL LIMIT
- 1900 HRS South of latitude 31 28 7 N
EXTENDED ARRIVAL LIMITS
- 3 % Additional canal toll from 1900 HRS - 2100 HRS
with maximum of SDR 7000
- 5 % Additional Canaan toll from 2100 HRS - 2200
HRS with maximum of SDR 10500
- 10 % Additional Canaan toll from for vessel
arriving after 0400 HRS if traffic conditions
permits,with maximum of SDR 20000
MOVEMENT OF CONVOY
- From 0600 to 1130 HRS
1ST GROUP INCLUDES:
- Vessels in ballast
- Vessels over 42 feet draft
- Lpg/lng vessels loaded or not gas free
- Vessel over 90.000 Suez Canal gross tonnages
- Loaded tankers carrying petroleum grade a or
similar (flash point below 23c)
- Heavy lifters
- Vessel carrying floating units 300 scgrt and over
- Navy ships
- 3 and 4 generations container ships
- Vessels not fitted with double bottom carrying
chemicals bulk
- Vessels carrying radioactive (group 3)
- Vessels carrying dangerous cargo
- Vessels carrying deck cargo protruding more than
half of the vessels breadth on any side.
2ND
GROUP
FIXED ARRIVAL LIMIT
- 0300 HRS South of latitude 31 28 7 N
EXTENDED ARRIVAL LIMIT
- 3 % Additional Canal toll from 0300 HRS - 0400 HRS
with maximum of SDR 7000
- 5 % Additional Canal toll from 0400 HRS - 0500 HRS
with maximum of SDR 10500
- 10 % Additional Canal toll from for vessel
arriving after 0400 HRS if traffic conditions
permits,with maximum of SDR 20000
MOVEMENT OF CONVOY
- From 0630 to 0900 HR
2ND GROUP EXCLUDES:
- LOADED TANKERS CARRYING PETROLEUM GRADE A AND
SIMILAR (FLASH POINT BELOW 23 C)
- LPG/LNG LOADED OR NOT GAS FREE
- VESSELS CARRYING CHEMICALS IN BULK NOT FITTED WITH
DOUBLE BOTTOM
- VESSEL CARRYING RADIOACTIVE SUBSTANCES, DANGEROUS
WASTES IMDG GROUP 1
- VESSEL WITH BEAM OVER 145 FEET AT 39,1 FEET DRAFT
- VESSEL WITH DRAFT OVER 42 FEET
- VESSEL IN BALLAST OVER 90.000 SUEZ CANAL GROSS TS
- NAVY SHIPS
A limited number of vessels
can join 2nd convoy pending on the number of mooring
berths at El Ballah, maximum beam to pass through El
Ballah is 160 ft.

should be submitted to BILYMARIS ( Billy Mitchell
Marine Services ) AS in due time prior to vessel's
arrival
Ship's full particulars DWT/GRT/NRT/SCNGRT/SCNRT/FLAG/
CALL SIGN/DRAFT/LOA/BEAM, and any other relevant
details, such as, Last Port / Next Port/number of
crew and Full style / address of operator or
charterers ,etc

BILYMARIS ( Billy
Mitchell Marine Services ) can also be reached on
VHF channel 12 / 13 & 16.
Master should provide following in first ETA
telex : full particulars of ship (scgrt, scnrt, dwt,
draft, beam, loa, nationality, call sign, ex names,
and date of last transit, type of cargo, or if in
ballast, gas free or not, Quantity and IMO class of
any dangerous cargo). If no changes since last
transit, please state ‘’particulars no change’’.
Information / instructions concerning all other
matters should be directed to BILYMARIS SHIPPING /
Port Said , who will coordinate and authorize
additional requirements.
For sake of good order, master should Contact
BILYMARIS ( Billy Mitchell Marine Services ) - Port
Said when entering the canal advising name of ship
chandler and type of service rendered. This also
applies if no services have been requested/rendered
during ships canal transit/port call.
Documentations Required
The
following documents and certificates should be on
board ships passing the Canal:
- Suez canal special tonnage certificate and
calculation sheet issued by recognized
classification society. (in absence of this
certificate the SCA will charge toll on a
provisional tonnage usually on grt).
- Certificate of Registry, showing latest ship's
name and present owners .
- General Arrangement
/ Engine Room & Capacity Plan.
- Statistical declaration.
- Copies of cargo manifests and bills of lading
(Dangerous / radioactive cargo should be properly
manifested and submit stow plan verified by a
competent authority of loading port).
- Declaration concerning use of double bottom tanks
and the lower parts of the high tanks.
- Declaration concerning vessels in ballast.
- Declaration concerning state of navigability.
- Classification certificate.
- Piping plan and general arrangement for LPG/LNG
vessels.
- All other known documents / certificates which a
seaworthy trading ship should have on board.
- Master is required to fill in various forms handed
to him by agent.
Following
Documents should be mailed to
agent in due time prior to transit For Measurement
Purpose.
3 copies of Suez Canal certificate.
3 copies of General Arrangement plan.
3 copies of capacity plan.
3 copies of engine room plan.
